A few observations on the Titans first depth chart

NFL: Tennessee Titans-Training Camp Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans have released their first unofficial depth chart. I took my stab at projecting the offense this morning. I guess my projections wasn’t terrible. Anyway, here are a few things that stand out to me:

  • Corey Davis is listed as the starter at wide receiver opposite of Rishard Matthews. That’s not a surprise, but I thought they might bump him down because of the injury.
  • Tre McBride is currently ahead of Taywan Taylor. That won’t last.
  • They only have one starting tight end listed. That is Delanie Walker. Philip Supernaw is behind Walker and ahead of Jonnu Smith. That is something else that won’t last.
  • Dennis Kelly is listed as the 2nd string right tackle, but as I noted, he is the 2nd string tackle.
  • On defense, LeShaun Sims and Logan Ryan are listed as the starting corners. Adoree Jackson and Brice McCain are listed as the backups. It will be interesting to see how that rotation plays out in the preseason.
  • Eric Weems is listed as the first string returner for kicks and punts with Jackson behind him. That is something else that won’t last. I still say Weems doesn’t make this team.

Is there anything else that stood out to you?
