Titans DeMarco Murray Day to Day with Hamstring Tweak

Titans head coach Mike Mularkey announced that DeMarco Murray is considered to be day to day with a hamstring “tweak.” Murray didn’t participate in the padded practice today.

Murray joins Titans rookie Corey Davis, who left practice with a hamstring injury today. Davis is set to have an MRI, but Murray’s issue seems to be less significant.

With DeMarco’s absence, Derrick Henry had a big practice. He drew praise from the reporters in attendance.

Injuries happen, especially to running backs. It’s one reason why Derrick Henry was drafted where he was. The hope is that the Titans wouldn’t miss a beat without Murray, but I fear they would miss him on passing downs.

Regardless, the injury sounds minor, but the team needs to get Henry up to speed quickly in the passing game just in case. It’s not a matter of whether or not Henry has the ability to make plays in the passing game, we just haven’t seen him in that role because of Murray. I’d hope that would change in the preseason.
