Titans Prop Bets for the 2017 NFL Season: Marcus Mariota for MVP?

You could cash a nice ticket here.

Just how confident are you in Marcus Mariota? If you’re a gambler, you’ve got a chance to put your money where your mouth is. Bookmaker.eu has a number of different prop bets posted on their site for the 2017 season, one of which is the race for the NFL MVP. For the first time since the Steve McNair era, the Titans have someone who can be a part of that conversation.

Is Marcus Mariota ready to perform like an MVP? I’d say probably not quite yet. You’ve still got Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers around, who will be players in this yearly debate until they retire. Mariota is likely going to lean on his ground game once again this season, but oddsmakers are at least taking notice of the young Titans quarterback.

Bookmaker has set Mariota’s odds at +5000, which translates to 50-1. A ten dollar bet would pay out 500 bucks. So how confident are you?

To put his odds into perspective, Tom Brady is the favorite at +350. Aaron Rodgers is just behind at +777. Marcus Mariota was placed on the same level as Carson Palmer. Andy Dalton and Eli Manning check in just behind Mariota at +6000.

Titans General Manager Jon Robinson has surrounding Mariota with an outstanding supporting cast which includes a top offensive line, DeMarco Murray, Delanie Walker, Rishard Matthews — and now Corey Davis, Eric Decker, Jonnu Smith and Taywan Taylor.

Will that translate into bigger numbers and more wins for the Titans? Logic would certainly dictate that it would, but the NFL is a fickle beast. Marcus is probably a year or two away from legitimate MVP talk, but it sure it nice to have a player on the roster worth the discussion.
