Titans remove Tajae Sharpe from PUP

NFL: Green Bay Packers at Tennessee Titans Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

The Titans announced this morning that they have activated WR Tajae Sharpe from the PUP list. Sharpe has been on the PUP list since the beginning of training camp after injuring a foot injury earlier this offseason. He is eligible to practice today.

Mike Mularkey had this to say about Sharpe’s progress (via Wyatt):

“We’re going to take him out for a good workout and then discuss what we want to do with him,’’ Titans coach Mike Mularkey said on Sunday. “But, he looks real good. Tajaé (Sharpe) has done everything above and beyond what we’ve asked him to do to come back from that injury.”

Sharpe had this to say (from the same article):

“I am feeling good, getting better and better every day. I’m just trying to take it a day at a time and trying to be patient. I know when I get out there I am going to go 110 percent, but I have to make sure I am 110 percent healthy first so when I get out there I am going to be ready.”

The Titans waived DL Mehdi Abdesmad to make room for Sharpe on the 90-man roster.

Sharpe had a nice rookie season with 41/522/2, but he isn’t a lock to make this roster. Right now you have to figure he is the 5th receiver behind Corey Davis, Rishard Matthews, Eric Decker and Taywan Taylor. The Titans probably won’t keep more than 5, so that final spot probably comes down to Sharpe and Tre McBride. My money is on Sharpe at this point, but the next week and a half will be really important for him.
