Marcus Mariota pre-training camp injury update

Good news via Paul Kuharsky

Paul Kuharsky posted on his Facebook page earlier today an update on Marcus Mariota’s health. It is mostly what we expected. Mariota will come to camp ready to hit the ground running. As I said, that is what we suspected, but it is good to see some pretty concrete evidence of that being the case.

There was some news in the piece from PK- Mariota plans to play at 215 pounds this season. The Titans coaches have wanted Mariota to play at 225-230 according to Kuharsky’s article, but his trainer, Ryan Flaherty, says he thinks Marcus should play at 215 because he is faster.

This is all good news for the Titans as camp opens in just over a week.

Click the link and read Kuharsky’s full story. You might remember that PK was laid off from ESPN in their big round of cuts a couple of months ago. We need to support his stuff because he is one of the few actual reporters we have left covering the Titans. Jim Wyatt works for the team now, so while his stuff is still excellent, he isn’t in the reporting business anymore. The guy that replaced Wyatt at The Tennessean, Jason Wolf, is an absolute joke.

So all of that to say, whether you are a fan of Kuharsky’s style or not, and I know a lot of you aren’t, we need guys like him in order to get real, unbiased information about the team.
