The month of November will tell us a lot about the 2017 Titans

I was looking at the Titans schedule for the one millionth* time this morning, and the month of November really jumped out at me. That is going to be the month that makes or breaks this team’s chances of winning the AFC South. The month opens with home games against the Ravens and Bengals and ends with road trips to Pittsburgh and Indianapolis. The AFC North is just about always a tough division, and the Colts figure to be the Titans biggest challenger for the AFC South crown.

My best guess is that the Titans enter November with a 5-2 record. They probably split the first 4 games (vs. Oakland, @ Jacksonville, vs. Seattle and @Houston) before winning three in a row against the Dolphins on the road, the Colts at home, and the Browns in Cleveland. A split of those November games would put the Titans at 7-4 and in prime position to make a playoff run. Anything above a split is house money. Anything less than a split puts a lot more pressure on the month of December.

The Titans have 5 games in December. Four of the 5 teams they play probably won’t make the playoffs (with Arizona being the exception (I think they are going to bounce back in a major way)). You could easily see the Titans rattling off 4 wins there. This team has a legitimate shot at 11-5!
