Dante Fowler was my boy in the 2015 draft. I was really disappointed when the Jacksonville Jaguars got him. There was no doubt in my mind that he was going to be a star. To this point, I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Fowler’s career got off to a rough start when he ruptured his Achilles tendon during the offseason before his rookie year. He missed the entire 2015 season. He was able to play all 16 games in 2016 but only managed 4 sacks. That’s not exactly what you are looking for in the 3rd overall pick.
Well it looks like the start to the 2017 season is going to be rocky as well. Fowler was arrested last night, according to the Tampa Bay Times, for simple battery and mischief. Here are details of the #alleged incident from Greg Auman:
Jaguars' Dante Fowler was arrested at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday in his hometown of St. Petersburg, released on $650 bond at 1 a.m. this morning ...

Fowler's arrest came in argument in apartment complex -- police say Fowler got out of car, hit a man, knocked off glasses, stepped on them.

Police say Dante Fowler then took victim's grocery bag, with "recently purchased liquor," and threw it in a lake.

This incident doesn’t sound like that big of a deal at the end of the day (from an NFL discipline perspective), but not a good look for a guy that has had a really rough start to his NFL career.
