Adam Stites over at SB Nation did a draft where all of the quarterbacks in the NFL were available. Marcus Mariota went second in said draft to the San Francisco 49ers (they used the latest Super Bowl odds* for draft order). Guess who the first QB picked was....Andrew Luck.
First off, let me say that Mariota went higher than I was expecting when I clicked the list. I would take Mariota over any quarterback in the league right now, but not everyone sees him the way that I do....but why would you take Luck ahead of him at this point? His last 2 seasons have been injury riddled disasters. His should might still be messed up right now.
Luck would probably be on my list behind Mariota, Derek Carr, Russell Wilson, Matt Ryan and even Aaron Rodgers.
Here is what Stites had to say about the Mariota pick:
In his second NFL season, at only 23 years old, Mariota posted a 95.6 passer rating. He’s efficient, dynamic, and intelligent, and probably would’ve been the Browns’ pick if it wasn’t for injuries that ended his first two years prematurely.
Who would your top 5 be if you were drafting quarterbacks to start your franchise?
