If you have been around here long enough to remember the Jake Locker era, you will remember that pretty much every season was a “make or break season” for him. It was a really fun time to be a Titans fan #sarcasm.
Anyway, there has been a ridiculous amount of talk about Tajae Sharpe this offseason. You will remember that Sharpe was last years offseason hero. He was running good routes and catching the ball. It is amazing what we as Titans fans get really excited about in a receiver, but it is understandable considering our disastrous history with wide receivers.
Things have certainly changed in a year for Sharpe. He got #allegedly got into a dumb off the field altercation. The Titans drafted 2 receivers in the first 3 rounds and signed Eric Decker. All 3 of those guys will probably be ahead of Sharpe on the depth chart before the season is over.
That means Sharpe needs a good camp to stay in the rotation at wide receiver. But is it make or break? I guess that depends on the work he has put in the offseason and how the Titans staff feels about the off the field incident.
I don’t think there is much of a chance Sharpe doesn’t make this roster, but it he isn’t the stone cold lock to make the roster he was a few months ago.
