Two whopping links today, folks! PK and Jason "#CONFIRMED" Wolf are in full blown Nashville Predators mode, so let's see what Wyatt has for us...
We shall begin with the biggest news: The Titans have reached a deal with Taywan Taylor. Taywan was selected in the third round, and is eighth drafted rookie to sign with the team. Taylor has said that his first month in the NFL has been a great experience, and that he never imagined he would be out on the field practicing with players like Marcus Mariota and DeMarco Murray. The players around him motivate him to work harder and to keep pushing himself, and that one of his goals is to help the team starting on week one. He plans on doing whatever he can to help this team win.
Alex Tanney is welcoming the extra reps, and the chance to improve. Mariota is still limited, and Cassel is out with a thumb injury, so that has given Tanney a chance to get some extra work with the team. His mission with his increased work is to limit mistakes, and to improve with the team each day. He said that for him it is about getting through his progression, and understanding the concept the coaches want them to do on the play.
Somehow this article from PK almost slipped by! Not today, PK! Not today! Kuharsky says that the Titans' "offensive splash" shouldn't detract from their defensive gains. He notes that a lot of people were feeling the Titans didn't address the defense enough in this past draft, but he reminds us that the defense was the focal point of free agency. Logan Ryan, Cyprien, and Sylvester Williams were signed during free agency, and the Titans drafted Adoree' Jackson in the first round. He says that calculates out to a 36% turnover on the defense, and that includes three-quarters of the secondary.
That's all for today. Happy reading!
