Paul Kuharksy pointed out this morning that Faith Hill is the common denominator in Nashville’s two title game losses. She was the latest in a long line of country music superstars to sing the national anthem before game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals last night. The Predators lost the game in the series. She also sang the national anthem before the Titans’ Super Bowl loss to the Rams in Atlanta back in January of 2000.
It is sad that we have to cross her off the list of anthem singers because she really is a great singer, but 0-2 is where I draw the line.
In all seriousness, congratulations to the Predators on a fantastic run. I haven’t watched a minute of hockey on TV since high school before the past couple of weeks, but I couldn’t wait to watch the games in this series. The whole city united around this team and it was fun to watch.
Here’s to hoping we can see something similar with the Titans this fall!
