Gil Brandt took a stab at his rising QB/WR combos heading into the 2017 season. No surprise, the Titans made the cut with Corey Davis and Marcus Mariota. The Tennessee combo was ranked 5th on the list.
Davis should come in and immediately be Mariota’s number one target. Davis will do a little bit of everything for the Titans out of the gate — slot, outside, blocking, short, deep, intermediate — Mariota should have ample opportunities to feed him the football.
Here’s the excerpt from the article.
What I found particularly amusing about Brandt’s assessment of Davis was that we are just two months removed from Brandt ranking Davis as his 31st overall player. Brandt called Davis Terrance Williams and said he had drop concerns. Now he has “exceptionally good” hands and the tools to be a number one.

I’m glad Davis has gotten so much better since April, Gil.
Anyways, regardless of what Brandt says, Mariota to Davis should be a stout combo going forward. Throw in Taywan Taylor, Rishard Matthews, Delanie Walker and that rushing attack and you’ve got a chance to be a really good offensive unit.
