Todd McShay 2018 NFL mock draft

It’s never to early!

Gramsey has been on pins and needles waiting for this moment. It is like Christmas morning for him! Todd McShay has released his 2018 NFL mock draft (In$ider). There are 2 things that I look for in this edition of McShay’s mock every year. Of course the first is who he projects the Titans to pick, but the second is where he projects the Titans to be picking. That gives you an indication of what he thinks of the Titans in the following season.

Well, McShay has the Titans picking 25th. That means he thinks pretty highly of them next year. That doesn’t mean anything, but it is cool to see them getting some respect in the national media.

As for the pick, McShay had the Titans taking Cameron Smith, ILB, USC. His comments:

As a true freshman in 2015, Smith led the Trojans in solo tackles despite missing the final four games of the season because of a knee injury. He bounced back from the injury in 2016, showing more playmaking ability, including seven tackles for loss and again leading the team in solo takedowns with 45.

The Titans drafted Jayon Brown in the 5th round, but we speculated leading up to the draft that they might spend an earlier pick on an ILB. It will be interesting to see how he fits in the rotation, and if the Titans are happy with the combination of Brown, Wesley Woodyard and Avery Williamson. If they aren’t, there is a very real possibility they could be looking to take an ILB early next year.
