I was happy to see the league take notice of Mariota, who often gets overlooked. I think it’s the small personality along with the smaller market, but his play on the field can’t be ignored.
Interestingly enough, Mariota checks in one spot ahead of division rival, Andrew Luck. He also beat out Jameis Winston, who was selected before Mariota in the 2015 NFL Draft. Those two are the topic of a daily twitter fight it seems, but this is voted on by the NFL player themselves, so maybe we finally have a clear winner (if the stats didn’t already convince you that Mariota had the edge).
Mariota joins Taylor Lewan (72), Delanie Walker (75), Brian Orakpo (78) and Jurrell Casey (86) on the top 100 list.
