Titans sign Demontre Hurst

Adding more depth to the defensive backfield.

The Titans announced on Twitter this afternoon that they have agreed to terms with Demontre Hurst. He is a 4th year guy that spent the first three years of his career with the Chicago Bears. Here is what Jon Robinson had to say about the acquisition via Jim Wyatt:

Demontre has been a competitive player for Chicago the last few years, having played outside corner, nickel and been a contributor in the kicking game,” Titans General Manager Jon Robinson said. “He has good toughness, is a willing tackler and has shown quickness to match as a coverage player. He has been a durable and dependable player in his time in the league and he’ll add competition to that position group defensively and work on special teams as well.

Hurst went undrafted out of Oklahoma back in 2014. He is by no means the answer to the Titans problems in the defensive backfield, but he is another guy that can come in and compete to be the 4th or 5th corner on the roster. Competition is never a bad thing!
