Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that the Titans have picked up Taylor Lewan’s 5th year option. There was never any doubt that this would happen, but it is apparently now official. We will likely get confirmation from the team in the press conference coming up here in a few minutes.
Source: the Titans have picked the 2018 fifth-year option on OT Taylor Lewan. No brainer for the tone-setting OT.

Titans GM Jon Robinson said that the decision was an easy one. Lewan really grew into a leadership role on the offensive line last season as the group took a huge step forward. The Titans offensive line became one of the best in the league and Lewan was a big reason why. His nastiness sets the tone for those around him — an attitude the Titans surely want to keep up with their smash-mouth mantra.
Lewan was the Titans first round pick in 2014 and is still playing on his rookie deal. With the money that free agent offensive tackles got on the open market this past free agent season, expect Lewan to get paid healthily come extension time.
