Ian Rapoport of NFL Network retweeted a report that the Titans have agreed to terms with former New England Patriots cornerback Logan Ryan. We speculated that he would be a free agent target for the Titans because of his ties to Jon Robinson.
Hopefully this will calm some the panic in Titans nation. The amount of people freaking out today has been ridiculous. Historically, teams that spend big in free agency don't win a lot of football games, which in case you don’t remember, is the point of what Robinson is trying to do.
Ryan was probably his top target all along. He had to wait for the first wave of free agency to settle before making this move.
Now he has upgraded the secondary with 2 guys in Ryan and Johnathan Cyprien who will come in and be impact guys from day one. He did that without giving a bunch of money to a guy that is going to come back and haunt them down the road.
Robinson proved last year he knows what he is doing. Let’s all try to remain calm and #TTP.
[UPDATE]- The deal is for $30 million over 3 years per Rapoport.
