Titans free agency rumors: Connecting the Dont’a Hightower dots

Dont’a Hightower is a guy that figures to be high on the Titans’ list of free agent targets when free agency opens today at 3 PM. He is a guy that Jon Robinson had at least a hand in drafting with the Patriots, and he fills a need the Titans have at inside linebacker. It just makes sense.

Yesterday Hightower posted a picture on his Instagram from downtown Nashville according to Paul Kuharsky. Now I am not on Instagram, so I am not 100% sure that I know what I am doing over there, but it appears he has since taken the picture down- at least I don’t see it there anymore.

I should mention here, as PK did, that Hightower is from middle Tennessee. So it probably isn’t that uncommon for him to be hanging out in Nashville.

Trevor, with 6% remaining, followed up last night with this Tweet:

Weird, sure, but I can poke holes in this one as well. Chance Warmack is no longer a member of the Titans, and like Hightower, played at Alabama. McCourty Twins is Jason AND Devin McCourty’s account. Devin and Hightower have been teammates in New England. Derrick Henry also played at Alabama. However, I don’t have any explanation for Avery Williamson.

So it could still be a coincidence.

With all of that being said, this is the one that might seal it for me:

Magee is 100% correct. Jason Wolf isn’t even that good of a follow for Titans stuff. There definitely isn’t any reason for Hightower to be following him unless he is coming here!

We still don’t have any real information, but don’t be surprised if Hightower is the first guy the Titans sign later this afternoon.
