We need some movement on this Brandin Cooks thing. I feel like I have done nothing but refresh Twitter for the last week just hoping to learn something new. This morning we did get what could be an interesting nugget from Ian Rapoport:
#Saints continuing to talk with #Eagles, #Titans & #Patriots in a potential Brandin Cooks deal. They want a picks or someone to affect QBs
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 8, 2017
The Titans do have a handful of guys that can affect QBs, Derrick Morgan, Brian Orakpo, and Jurrell Casey, but they aren’t giving up any of those guys for Cooks. They simply cannot afford to part with one of those guys because they have zero depth behind any of them.
If the Titans end up being the team that acquires Cooks, it will be for a draft pick not a player. In fact, my guess is that any team who ends up with Cook will do it for a pick. Player for player trades are pretty rare in the NFL- especially around draft time.
So what do you think, would you give up one of the guys listed above to acquire Cooks?
