Mel Kiper went through and re-graded the 2016 NFL Draft. I am on record stating that it takes 3 years to accurately evaluate a draft class, but it is less ridiculous to grade a class a year after the draft than it is the day after....so there’s that. Kiper loved what the Titans did right after the draft ended last year giving Jon Robinson an A-. Spoiler alert: He still loves it- giving it an A- again.
Here is part of what Kiper had to say about the draft class after a year:
Jack Conklin was a stud, an All-Pro as a rookie. That's amazing. Derrick Henry showed he can do damage at this level, and he did well as DeMarco Murray's understudy. Tajae Sharpe is one of the steals of the draft so far and bagged 41 catches. Kevin Byard even started seven games and had 51 tackles. There's just a lot of production here for a team that got better. Then you have the added picks for 2017.
He went on to point out the negative of the class- Kevin Dodd. I am not ready to write Dodd off just yet because he was injured for most of the year, but we need to see something from him in 2017.
