Earlier today we looked at Mike Mayock’s 2017 NFL Draft position rankings. Not long after that post, Todd McShay released his latest 2017 NFL Draft position rankings (In$ider). For this post we are going to look at where there is a discrepancy between the rankings of Mayock and McShay in places of note to the Titans.
At receiver, Mayock has JuJu Smith-Schuster at 8 while Mayock has him at 5. I didn’t watch JuJu play that much at USC, but I was very impressed by what I did see. If Jon Robinson is able to swing a deal to get a second round pick and Smith-Schuster is the first receiver he picks, I will be good with that.
The biggest discrepancy is at corner. There rankings are all over the place there. Here is what Mike Mayock has at corner:
1. Marshon Lattimore, Ohio State 2. Marlon Humphrey, Alabama 3. Kevin King, Washington 4. Gareon Conley, Ohio State 5. Fabian Moreau, UCLA
Here is what McShay has:
1. Marshon Lattimore, Ohio State* 2. Tre'Davious White, LSU 3. Quincy Wilson, Florida* 4. Teez Tabor, Florida* 5. Jourdan Lewis, Michigan 6. Marlon Humphrey, Alabama* 7. Adoree' Jackson, USC* 8. Gareon Conley, Ohio State* 9. Chidobe Awuzie, Colorado 10. Kevin King, Washington
So you have Lattimore as the consensus #1, but it gets a little crazy after that. Mayock has Humphrey at 2 while McShay has him at 6. You probably all know that I am an Alabama fan, but I am not that high on Humphrey.
Then you have Kevin King. 3 for Mayock but 10 for McShay. Tre’Davious White is 2 for McShay and not even on Mayock’s board. McShay also still likes the Florida corners while Mayock has taken them off his list. I will have to side with Mayock there.
Now if only we could get Jon Robinson’s rankings for these guys....
