Every year there is someone who has a meteoric rise during the mock draft process. This year that player is one O.J. Howard. When mock drafts first started he was consistently going at the end of the first round. Then he moved into the middle of the first round, sometimes with the Titans taking him at 18, but in the last week he has shot up boards. Todd McShay had Howard going 4th overall to the Jaguars in his latest NFL mock draft. Dan Kadar, in his latest NFL mock draft, has Howard going 6th to the New York Jets.
As for the Titans in Kadar’s mock, he has the Titans going with what is becoming the chalk: Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State at 5 and Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan at 18. That’s a draft I can get on board with.
Here are Kadar’s comments on Lattimore:
This could be a wide receiver like Mike Williams of Clemson, but with the top cornerback still available the Titans could strike. Lattimore is a playmaker who is just scratching the surface.
And on Davis:
Tennessee’s need at wide receiver has been stated time and again. Rishard Matthews and Tajae Sharpe are good players, but Davis could be the superstar No. 1 target Tennessee needs.
