Titans free agency: Recapping Jon Robinson’s Midday 180 interview

Some good stuff today with the Titans GM.

NFL: Combine Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Titans general manager Jon Robinson joined The Midday 180 today to talk about what the Titans have done in free agency to this point and what the future might hold. The guys on Midday 180 do a great job on interviews, and Robinson gives pretty good information for a NFL GM. Here are some of the highlights from his interview:

  • Dont’a Hightower hasn’t visited the Titans. They have been “keeping tabs” on what he is doing, but it doesn’t sound like there is anything going on there.
  • The Titans did not offer the #18 pick to the Saints for Brandin Cooks.
  • Robinson did say that there was potentially a deal discussed that had the Titans drop from #5 to #11 in the first round for Cooks.
  • Logan Ryan was the priority for the Titans in free agency.
  • Robinson reiterated how much he values having draft picks.
  • Johnathan Cyprien is a guy that loves to play football. Robinson likes those guys.
  • Erik Walden is visiting the Titans today.
  • Eric Weems helps as a return man and on coverage teams.
  • Robinson had good things to say about Sly Williams. He is confident Dick LeBeau can get something out of him.
  • Wesley Woodyard has a $500,000 roster bonus due today. Robinson said he will be on the roster tomorrow.
