We are going to look at 2 mock drafts today- one that I love and one that is questionable. We start with the questionable one. It is from Josh Norris of NBC Sports. I am a big fan of Josh’s work, but I don’t like what he did for the Titans in this mock.
With the 5th pick he has the Titans taking Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State. His comments:
Some might render football down to turnovers and big plays. Hooker can create big plays and turnovers thanks to his extreme range from his safety spot. I know the Titans have added safeties in recent offseasons, but Hooker projects as a different breed.
I don’t have an argument with anything Norris said there, but it sure seems like the Titans really like Kevin Byard. Would they draft his replacement with the 5th pick in this draft with so many other needs?
With the 18th pick he has the Titans taking Mike Williams, WR, Clemson:
The Titans could go a few ways at receiver. Add a true yards after catch threat in Corey Davis or JuJu Smith-Schuster, a vertical player in John Ross or maybe a contested catch receiver like Mike Williams. If Williams gains a positional advantage and the ball is thrown on target, it will be caught.
I’m out on Williams at this point. Give me one of the tight ends, O.J. Howard or David Njoku, here. They would add more to this offense than Williams.
What do you think about this mock?
