The Titans have signed former Broncos DT Sylvester Williams to a 3-year deal according to various reports. Williams was a first round pick by the Broncos back in 2013. Denver declined to pick up his 5th year option before the 2016 season. They had a conversation about it at Mile High Report here.
Williams will be in the mix to win the starting nose tackle job. After the Titans release Al Woods earlier this week, the only nose tackles they have on the roster are Austin Johnson and Antwaun Woods. Both of those guys will be entering their 2nd year in 2017.
The signing of Sly Williams is being met with a lot of skepticism. Robinson must like him better than the 2 guys he currently has on the roster if he was willing to give him a 3 year deal. I’m not sure if that is a good thing for Williams or an indictment of Woods and Johnson.
