Titans free agency recap: Grade day 1

Are you happy with who the Titans were able to bring in on day 1 of NFL free agency?

David Butler III-USA TODAY Sports

Two toned Twitter was angry yesterday. They wanted Jon Robinson to go out there and sign all the free agents forgetting that successful teams aren't built that way. Was I disappointed when it was announced that A.J. Bouye was signing with the Jaguars, sure? But here's the thing, I trust Jon Robinson. I trust that he isn't being cheap, but is making calculated decisions that will make this team a winner over the long term.

Robinson signed 4 new guys yesterday. The first was strong safety Johnathan Cyprien. Then came special teamers Daren Bates and Brynden Trawick. People seem to forget how bad the Titans were on special teams last year. They gave up a punt return for a touchdown in the first match-up against the Texans. That cost them the game and ultimately a the AFC South crown. Then, in the middle of a pretty serious storm here in middle Tennessee, he signed cornerback Logan Ryan- who was probably his top target at corner all along.

Robinson was also able to bring back two of his own- Karl Klug and Nate Palmer. How sad would you be if you weren't able to yell "KLUUUUUUUUUUUUG" next season?

They also have a standing offer on the table for Brandin Cooks that the Saints might just accept after they realize they aren't getting the moon for him.

I think it was a really solid day. I would have loved to have seen them bring in another corner, but both Bouye and Dre Kirkpatrick got stupid money. I can't fault him for not wanting to go there. It was a solid B in my book.

Now it is your turn to grade Robinson. Vote in the poll below and leave your feedback in the comments.
