It's that time of year again for the annual exercise called the Indianapolis Underwear Olympics! As usual, I will be breaking down the prospects by the order in which they report with their fellow position group mates. First up, the big hogs up front, OL.
Tackles
1. Cam Robinson 6'6 310 Junior Alabama
- Robinson, when truly on his game, is one of the best tackles in the country, regardless of age. His off games were a bit glaring in 2016, however. He is a master of run blocking, getting to the second level while maintaining balance and good footwork. Where he is most deficient (well for a dominant franchise tackle) is the passing game. Little tweaks here and there are needed in his footwork flowing backwards. His feet tend to get a bit crossed and loses leverage as a result. Anchors down very well for a big guy. Goes from one extreme to the other in terms of wins and losses. Wins are excellent while the losses are spectacular. A solid lock to be first tackle off the board.
2. Ryan Ramcyzk 6'5 314 RS Junior Wisconsin
- The latest in a long line of Badgers tackles to get drafted. Ramcyzk is the best offensive tackle in the country not named Cam Robinson. He displays great footwork and anchors very well in his base. Plus hands. Could develop into a franchise type of left tackle. The skill set is there for the further coaching. Top 25 talent.
3. Roderick Johnson 6'6 308 Junior Florida State
- The Seminoles' franchise left tackle since his freshman season, where he displaced current Cleveland Brown center Cam Erving to center. Johnson had an inconsistent 2016 season, going from dominant to really bad in game to game. Routinely got beat by quicker defensive ends. Form really regressed from his freshman season. Should've stayed for his senior season and developed further.
4. Antonio Garcia 6'6 302 Senior Troy
- Garcia led the way for a resurgent Troy team that made some noise in 2016. He has above average footwork and hand skills. Had a solid week in Mobile during the Senior Bowl. Not the best athlete out there but has just enough to get the job done. Instincts are a plus. A name no one is talking about but could be a good one down the road.
Guards
1. Taylor Moton 6'5 328 RS Senior Western Michigan
- Although Moton is a tackle by trade, he projects as a guard at the next level. Had a solid outing at the Senior Bowl. The Titans were rumored to meet him as well there. He's a road grader type of guard and will not hesitate to show it, either. He fits what Jon Robinson looks for in a offensive lineman: a little recruited, smart (graduated with an MBA), and tough as nails. Made Ohio State defenders look foolish in 2015 (that Buckeyes DL was no joke).
2. Isaac Asiata 6'3 325 RS Senior Utah
- The Pac-12's best offensive lineman and has the hardware to show it. Asiata is a type of guy coaches let off the bus first. A mountain of a man at the position. Frame is ideal. Lateral agility is a big plus. Football IQ is above average. Comfortable in both pass and run blocking. Can play tackle in a pinch but it is a risk to let him stay outside for long. A plug and play type of guy in any system but ideal for the Titans' ground and pound game. Cousin to Vikings RB Matt Asiata so the bloodlines are there.
3. Dan Feeney 6'4 304 RS Senior Indiana
- Arguably the nation's best guard prospect in a weak class. Frame is a plus. Lateral agility is another positive. Position versatile and fits virtually any scheme. Accelerates to the second level very quickly. Has allowed only TWO sacks in over 3,200 snaps spread across 45 starts. He had an excellent week in Mobile.
4. Forrest Lamp 6'4 305 RS Senior Western Kentucky
- Lamp was last seen having a great week in Mobile before unfortunately picking up an injury that caused him to miss practice and the game itself. Led the way for an explosive Hilltoppers offense that made 30 points a matter of routine. Strength is a plus. Football IQ is above average as well. Character and work ethic are a plus. Four year starter at left tackle. A two star recruit that developed into one of the best in the country. Better suited as a guard at the next level but could play tackle in a pinch.
