Verner cashed in on his best season as a Titan, signing a 4 year, 25.7 million dollar deal with the Bucs back in 2014. Today, Tampa Bay is expected to clear his 6.5 million dollar cap hit by releasing the seven year vet.
I don’t know how much Verner has left in the tank at this point, but he could be a cheap option that could add some depth in the secondary. We’ll see where the market values him at.
Tennessee was so bad at corner that you have to consider pretty much any warm body that hits free agency as an upgrade. You can’t do much worse than Perrish Cox and Valentino Blake. Brice McCain wasn’t much better. Verner may be worth a look here. What do you guys think?
