DeMarco Murray suffered what the Titans are calling an LCL sprain in the loss to the Rams today. He will have an MRI tomorrow to assess the extent of the damage. Pro Football Doc of the San Diego Union-Tribune is not convinced that it is an LCL injury. He says it “looks more like an MCL and/or ACL tear.”
Either way, Murray will most likely miss the week 17 contest against the Jaguars. There is a chance today could have been the last game that Murray plays with the Titans. He is owed $6.25 million in 2018 and $6.5 million in 2019. I know this coaching staff LOVES Murray, but they just can’t pay him that kind of money at this point.
For now it becomes the Derrick Henry show. David Fluellen, who inexplicably was in on the final Titans’ offensive play against the Rams, becomes the back-up. They will probably also call up Khalfani Muhammad from the practice squad.
