Firing Terry Robiskie wouldn’t fix the problem

If you want change, you need to go all the way to the top.

#FireRobiskie is all the rage on Titans Twitter right now. There is even a change.org petition. I get it. This offense has looked terrible. Every single player has regressed from last year, and they just aren’t fun to watch. Most importantly of all, Marcus Mariota looks lost. These are all justifiable reasons to want Terry Robiskie fired.

I would caution you, however, that firing Robiskie isn’t going to change much because they are running the offense that Mike Mularkey wants them to run. If Mularkey either chooses or is forced to fire Robiskie, he is just going to bring in someone exactly like him to take over.

Last night on the podcast (listen here), Lambert threw out a name of a guy that would probably be in the mix as Titans OC if Robiskie is fired. That name is Dirk Koetter, who seems to be on his way out as the head coach in Tampa Bay. Trust me when I tell you that an offense with Mularkey as head coach and Koetter as the OC would look pretty similar to the one that we see now.

All of that to say, if you really want the offense to change, it is Mike Mularkey who needs to be fired- not just Robiskie. It looks like 54% of you already want Mularkey out. This is going to be an interesting 3 weeks.
