We all know that Derrick Henry has been better than DeMarco Murray this year. You can tell that just by watching the games. You can tell it by looking at the yards per carry numbers- 3.5 for Murray and 4.6 for Henry. You can tell it by reading this article that breaks it down even further. The eyes and the analytics don’t always agree. They absolutely do here.

Murray was a great find for this team last year. He came in and put up numbers similar to his Pro Bowl numbers from his days in Dallas. There is no way this team would have won 9 games without him last year.

With all of that being said, it is just coaching malpractice to start Murray ahead of Henry this season. There are still times where Murray can be on the field- to spell Henry or if the coaching staff still doesn’t completely trust Henry on third downs, but it is time for this to be Derrick Henry’s job.

The other part of this is that Henry gets stronger as he piles up carries in a game. Why are they waiting until the second half to get that momentum started?

This one is so simple. Derrick Henry gives this team the best chance to win football games and make a playoff run.
