Bob Kravitz has a piece this morning reporting that their is turmoil in Indianapolis between Colts owner Jim Irsay and quarterback Andrew Luck. The issue, according to Kravitz, boils down to the Irsay thinking that the reason Luck isn’t playing right now is more of a mental issue than a physical issue. If true, that’s a pretty serious issue.
I, for one, hope that this causes a fracture that cannot be repaired and Luck demands a trade. Look, the media has propped up Luck more during his career than they should have. They were preparing his Hall of Fame bust before he ever took a snap, but there is no doubt that he is a franchise quarterback. I would love to see him get shipped out of the division.
And how dumb is Irsay if he is really going around running his mouth about this...even if he believes it to be true? Does he have any idea how fortunate he is to have had Peyton Manning and Luck for all of these years?
Alienating a franchise quarterback (allegedly) is a really, really stupid thing to do.
