For most of my years running MCM we have shifted to draft coverage about mid-November. I am thankful that is not the case this season. We will, however, begin to take the pulse of mock drafts around the web to see what they are predicting for the Titans.
That starts today with friend of MCM, Dan Kadar, and his latest mock draft. He has the Titans taking Sam Hubbard, DE, Ohio State. His comments:
Both Derrick Morgan and Brian Orakpo have only a season left on their contracts, so Tennessee could be in the market for a pass rusher of the future this offseason. Hubbard is in the same mold as Morgan and Orakpo and is an incredible athlete for an end.
Every mock draft from now until at least free agency is going to have the Titans taking a pass rusher, or an EDGE player as gramsey likes to call them. That seems like the biggest need this team will have heading into the 2018 season.
The situation at OLB seems a lot like the situation at CB heading into last offseason. It is hard to see a scenario where the Titans don’t add more than one in free agency and/or the draft.
