Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but a key Titans’ player is dealing with a hamstring injury. This time it’s Rishard Matthews.
Matthews was limited on Thursday, but was held out today. Head coach Mike Mularkey said that they “wanted to give him a day to rest his hamstring.” Matthews is the team’s leading receiver with 626 yards and three touchdowns.
If Matthews were to miss, that’s an obvious hit to the passing game — which is already struggling. Rishard has consistently been one of two guys that really seem to have some legitimate chemistry with Marcus Mariota. Matthews missing would give an obvious bump to Corey Davis, who is already seeing plenty of targets as is.
One potential body that could give the Titans some insurance comes in the form of Harry Douglas. He practiced today and the team has the option of activating him off of IR before Sunday.
Outside of that, the Titans are fully healthy — which is actually pretty amazing.
