Marcus Mariota injury update: Titans QB is “coming along very well”

NFL: Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Mike Mularkey just wrapped up his Monday press conference. He said Marcus Mariota is coming along very well in his rehab from his hamstring injury. It is hard to know what that really means. I think there is a real chance that he is able to play on Monday, but of course that might just be wishful thinking.

Johnathan Cyprien will likely still be out with his hamstring injury. There is a chance that Corey Davis could be ready to go against the Colts, but Mularkey didn’t sound very optimistic about it. My guess would be that he is out. Taylor Lewan is day to day with his knee injury.

Someone asked Mularkey if there was a chance it wouldn’t be Matt Cassel who got the start if Mariota can’t go. He said Cassel is the guy and everyone around him needs to play better.

Those are pretty much the only things of note that came out of this afternoon’s session. The Titans won’t have to give a practice report until Thursday since they don’t play until Monday night. We will no more on all of these guys then.
