Titans’ quarterback Marcus Mariota returned to the practice field today in limited fashion, just three days removed from suffering a hamstring injury in Houston against the Texans. Mariota attempted to come back into the game after halftime, but coaches were cautious and held him out.
Brandon Weeden was signed yesterday as insurance, just in case Marcus can’t go on Sunday. Mike Mularkey said that he was considered to be “day to day” after his MRI revealed a strain of the hamstring.
“He did what we thought he could do, and that wasn’t very much. But it was enough. We are going to be smart with him. It was positive for what he had to do,” Mularkey said.
He also added that they plan on increasing his workload as the week goes on.
Corey Davis, Johnathan Cyprien and Quinton Spain didn’t practice today. Davis and Cyprien are still dealing with hamstring issues. Spain is dealing with a turf toe issue, but Mularkey sounded optimistic about him playing on Sunday.
