Andrew Luck suffers setback; Might not play in 2017

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Colts GM Chris Ballard announced this afternoon that Andrew Luck will not practice this week. He has soreness in his right shoulder and will be shut down for the time being. Ballard called this a “setback” for Luck who seemed on track to play in the next couple of weeks.

Ballard said the team won’t but Luck on IR, but it really seems unlikely that he will play in 2017 at this point. Last week he had moved up to doing 7 on 7 drills, but hasn’t really participated in a practice this year.

The Colts are still a serviceable team because they made the trade for Jacoby Brissett, but they aren’t going to be a factor in the AFC South without Luck. The streak has ended. Now this needs to be the first time the Titans sweep the Colts since 2002 and only the 2nd time ever.
