DeShone Kizer to start at quarterback for Browns vs. Titans

NFL: New York Jets at Cleveland Browns Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Mary Kay Cabot is reporting that DeShone Kizer will start at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday against the Titans. Kizer started the Browns first 5 games before giving way to Kevin Hogan last week. Hogan was terrible so Hue Jackson is going back to Kizer. Nothing builds up a young quarterback’s confidence like constantly looking over his shoulder.

The Titans are probably glad to get this information on Wednesday instead of over the weekend, but it probably doesn’t really make that much difference in their preparation. Neither guy is great in the pocket. Both guys are a threat to take off and run if the play breaks down.

Hopefully Dick LeBeau will use his second half notes from Monday night in this one. The Titans need to find a way to pressure Kizer and force him to make quick decisions. Kizer has already thrown 9 interceptions this season. He threw 3 each against the Ravens and Colts(!). There is no reason the Titans shouldn’t get a couple in this game.
