Marcus Mariota is set to get an MRI tomorrow on his injured hamstring. The Titans should have a better idea at that point how much time, if any, Mariota is going to miss. The injury occurred on his touchdown run in the second quarter, but he came back out to take a knee after that before the half.
ProFootballDoc of the San Diego Tribune took a closer look at the play and speculates exactly where he thinks the injury happened. He could be right. The bigger concern for me is this from Paul Kuharsky:
Is this what I am supposed to be lip-reading? Cause I am not getting it. pic.twitter.com/Vcc79HAvZ0— Paul Kuharsky (@PaulKuharskyNFL) October 2, 2017
Does Marcus say, “I heard it pop.”? That is what some people are speculating on Twitter. I didn’t get that until I saw someone say it, but now I can’t unsee it.
I guess we are just going to have to wait for the results of the MRI at this point, but I’m not feeling very optimistic right now.
The Titans really need to take a look at their training program and see if there is a reason that they are having so many hamstring issues this year.
