NFL Mock Draft 2017: All about that defense

How do you feel about this one?

NCAA Football: Fiesta Bowl-Ohio State vs Clemson David Kadlubowski-USA TODAY Sports

Dan Kadar did his weekly NFL mock draft purely based on team needs this week. He has the Titans taking a defensive player with both of their first round picks. This could absolutely happen if there isn’t a receiver of the board that Jon Robinson thinks will take the offense to the next level.

Kadar had the Titans taking Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State with the 5th pick in the draft. Here are his comments on Hooker:

It’s clear that the Titans need a legit No. 1, shutdown cornerback but is the fifth pick too high to get that player? Take out “shutdown cornerback” in the previous sentence and the same can be said for wide receiver. The Titans could go after one of the elite playmaker safety early. A middle linebacker the Titans just need a dependable player who can get forward and stop the run and occasionally drop in coverage.

Can he force turnovers? If the answer to that questions is yes, then I am all in. If the answer is no, then it is a hard pass for me.

Kadar had the Titans taking Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida with the second pick. That is a popular selection in mocks these days.
