Final NFL power rankings: Oh, where the Titans could have been

Our last look at power rankings of the 2016 season.

NFL: Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans The Tennessean-USA TODAY Sports

It is going to take me a while to get over the fact that the Titans fell one game short of making the playoffs. What makes it even harder is the fact that the Texans are going. The Titans were clearly better than them at the end of the season, but hey, there were quite a few games during the year where they just didn’t get it done.

But it isn’t all bad. There is hope for a bright future for the first time in a very long time!

Let’s take a look at where the Titans finished up in the various power rankings around the web:

SB Nation: 21 (LW:22)

ESPN: 17 (LW:21)

The Titans posted their first winning season since 2011, and next season, with a healthy Marcus Mariota, they'll be looking for their first playoff berth since 2008. One thing that will help their cause: The Titans own the Rams' first-round draft pick (fifth overall).
