The Senior Bowl is quickly approaching, and both Mike Mularkey and Jon Robinson have been attending practices. Jim Wyatt caught up with both of them, and dropped three quick notes from his chats with them. Let's start with the Head Coach. Mularkey was asked about new wide receivers coach Frisman Jackson, and Mularkey says he is a good fit. He went on to say that Jackson will fit in, and that he is very detailed, and that is how they want to do things. Mularkey has been doing some eavesdropping on the players. He has been paying attention to they way they talk and act when they think no one is watching. Finally he says that he thinks Steve Hoffman did a good job with Special Teams considering the situation he was put in, and that liking what Steve did is why he kept him onboard.
Ok. Now time for the General Manager. Wyatt asked Robinson it felt being at the Senior Bowl one year later, and he said last year was a bit of a whirlwind, and was full of congratulatory handshakes from old friends and scouts. What is he looking for in players? He is looking for competitiveness, coachability, attention to details, and he wants to see them make plays. Could the Titans be looking at taking a tight end in this year's draft? Walker is a baller, Fasano's contract is expiring, Supernaw is a free agent, and Amaro is still chilling on the roster. Mularkey said he believes tight end is another position that is deep in this draft, and he said that when the right time is there they will see if they can add a guy.
That's all for today. Happy reading!
