Could Peyton Manning take another turn at leading the Indianapolis Colts? According to Albert Breer, it’s a possibility. Breer says that the Colts legend has a job waiting for him when he wants it.

This of course is big news to Titans fans, many of who bought into the speculation that Manning could one day work for the Titans in a front office role. There has been speculation of an ownership stake, along with a John Elway type role.
However, with the recent success of Jon Robinson and Amy Adams Strunk, speculation has cooled on the topic. Now with Ryan Grigson out, speculation is ramping up in Indy.
Irsay shot down comments today about Manning in his presser, saying Manning isn’t a serious candidate for a GM role. Notice the wording though.
Jim Irsay confirms Peyton Manning is NOT in the picture for the GM position.

BUT ... Irsay says he would welcome the opportunity to talk to Peyton Manning about a role in the organization.

Irsay specifically mentioned that Peyton was out of the running for the GM role only. I wouldn’t think Manning would start immediately in a GM position anyways.
Could he start working under someone to learn the front office ropes? What about a team president role with a GM under him? I think it’s all possible. And Jim Irsay isn’t exactly a guy whose word is one you can trust.
I think there’s some real smoke here. Peyton’s competitive fire won’t keep him out of the game for too much longer, I think.
