Kendall Wright — the Titans 2012 first round selection out of Baylor — has likely played his final snap as a Tennessee Titan. Wright struggled this season after another coaching change, never really getting his season off of the ground. He actually ended up being a healthy scratch twice late in the season. The writing was on the wall.
Wright took to Instagram and confirmed what everyone was thinking last night.
He will go down as yet another incredibly frustrating Tennessee receiver. Add him to the list. Wright had all the talent to be a really productive slot guy, but something was always holding him back. Whether it was an injury or issues with the new staff’s playbook — it was always something. He never could put it together.
Expect Jon Robinson to add at least two receivers this offseason. He will need a guy that can run the slot and another outside threat. Wide receiver is currently my number two need on this roster.
Wright will be a risky, high upside target for some team in free agency. If he can get into a stable situation, he may be able to bounce back. But that wasn’t happening in Nashville. It was time for both sides to move on.
