NFL mock draft 2017: Seniors only!

Dan plays a game of “what if” with today’s NFL mock draft.

Mock drafts can get a little bit tedious....especially when you start them as early as our friend Dan Kadar does, but Kadar does a good job of mixing things up to try and keep it fresh. Today’s mock shows what would happen if only seniors were eligible for the draft. Now obviously this isn’t how the actual draft will play out because 3-year guys are eligible, but no mock ever comes that close to getting it right. Why not mix it up?

This mock has the Titans taking Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson with the 5th pick. Kadar’s comments:

If there wasn’t so much underclassmen talent at cornerback in this year’s draft, Tankersley might carry a true first-round grade. He has good length for a cornerback, and has been a productive player throughout his career.

Then he has the Titans taking my boy Eddie Jackson, S, Alabama with the 18th pick:

If we’re working through an impossible scenario in this mock draft, why not peg Jackson for the first round? Had he not suffered a fractured leg in October, Jackson could well and truly be a first-round pick. He’s an instinctive safety who was the leader of Alabama’s defense.

Again, this obviously isn’t how it will play out, but I would absolutely take this draft in that scenario.
