Mike Mularkey said today that Kendall Wright will not play in the opener. That isn't really a surprise considering Wright hasn't practiced since the first week of camp- well unless you count the practice where he came back and immediately re-injured his hamstring.
This doesn't really change anything that the Titans have been doing. Rishard Matthews and Tajae Sharpe have been the starting receivers since the opening of camp. Kendall Wright was working as the slot receiver before his injury. Harry Douglas took over that role after Wright's injury.
It will be interesting to see how the targets are distributed in the Titans' passing game. You know Delanie Walker is going to get his share. Sharpe seemed to be Mariota's favorite target in the preseason. Matthews is also going to see his fair share. What does that leave for the slot receiver?
There is no timetable for Wright's return at this point.
