Last night Ian Rapoport broke the news that JJ Watt could be out for the rest of the year. The official timeline hasn’t been established yet, but we do know he will miss Sunday’s game against the Titans. I was curious to see how that would move the line. Watt isn’t a quarterback, but he does have a pretty big impact on the game.
The line moved but not in the way that I expected. It opened at Texans -4.5. It currently sits anywhere from Texans -4.5 to Texans -7 depending on where you look.
The bigger change has come in the over/under. It opened at 39 but currently sits at 40.5. One would assume that change comes from Watt being out and the people in Vegas thinking the Titans are going to score more points.
It would be tough for me to take the over in a Titans game right now based on how bad the offense has been and how good the defense has been.....for recreational purposes only.
