Fantasy football waiver wire week 4: Cameron Brate and Hunter Henry can help you at tight end

Tight end is a tough position to get correct in fantasy football. Here are 2 guys that can help you.

NFL: Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Last week the waiver wire was all about back-up running backs. There was opportunity for guys like Jerick McKinnon, Matt Asiata and Cameron Artis-Payne because of injuries to Adrian Peterson and Jonathan Stewart. We have a few running backs this week that should be on your radar because the guys ahead of them aren’t very good, and we will talk about them later, but the value this week is at tight end.

Here are 2 guys you should consider, regardless of the size and scoring format of your league:

Cameron Brate, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Austin Seferian-Jenkins was cut by the Bucs late last week after an arrest for a DUI. That makes Brate Tampa’s #1 tight end for the rest of the year on an offense that is going to throw the ball a lot. In his first week as the starter he saw 10 targets and scored 2 touchdowns.

Hunter Henry, TE, San Diego Chargers

Antonio Gates missed yesterday’s game with a hamstring injury. He apparently wasn’t that close to playing yesterday, so this injury will probably keep him out a couple more weeks. Plus he is always hurt, so there will be plenty of opportunities for Henry in another offense that throws the ball a lot. Yesterday he had 5 catches on 5 targets for 76 yards. The Chargers have lost a lot in the passing game already this year with the season ending injuries to Kennan Allen and Danny Woodhead. Philip Rivers has to throw the ball to somebody. It might as well be Henry.
