Right now Ryan Tannehill is my quarterback in cash games. That terrifies me a little bit because I don’t think he is #good. Let’s talk about how I got there:

The Dolphins are at home against the Browns. The total in the game is 42. Miami is 9.5 point favorite. Now normally you want to use the running back on a team like that, but the Dolphins don’t have a running back that is good with Arian Foster injured. They will use the short passing game to Jarvis Landry as an extension of the run game. Even if the Dolphins get out to a big lead, they will still be passing because they can’t move the ball on the ground.

Tannehill is cheap on both sites. He is $7,400 on FanDuel and only $6,200 on Draft Kings. I like paying down for quarterbacks in good spots in cash games because it frees up your salary to get some of the high priced studs you want at other positions. That’s another box that Tannehill checks here.

I also like to find a good receiver to pair my cash game quarterback with- you know, positive correlation and all of that good stuff. Landry fits that bill here, especially on DK where the scoring is PPR. Landry is also relatively cheap at $7,000 on FD and $6,600 on DK.

He also has DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills at receiver. Parker finally had his breakout game last week and is a guy you should have stashed in season long leagues. Stills is always a threat for a long touchdown. Both guys make solid tournaments plays this week in DFS as well.

Tannehill has also been running more this year with 11 carries through 2 games. He is a safe bet for 30 yards rushing. That raises his floor with those yards and the potential for a rushing touchdown.

So that’s how I got to Tannehill in cash games. Like I said, it scares me, but I feel like the reasoning is solid. I would love to hear your thoughts.
