Last week Tajae Sharpe led the Titans in targets. I said in that post that they needed to find a way to get Delanie Walker the ball more. They did that today and it paid off. Delanie was targeted 6 times and ended the game with 6/83/1. That’s efficiency right there, son.
Sharpe still tied for the team lead in targets with 7. He tied with DeMarco Murray- who showed some nice hands in this game. The highlight of Murray’s receiving day was a 20 yard catch down the hash. Those people that wrote Murray off after last season look pretty silly right about now.
Rishard Matthews finished the day with 6 targets. Anthony Fasano had 3, Andre Johnson had 2 and Derrick Henry and Phillip Supernaw each had 1.
The Titans still need a receiver that can take the top off the defense. This is the best group they have had in a while, but they still struggle to get much separation. One of the things they will need to focus on this offseason is bringing in a deep threat.
Here are your updated totals for targets on the year:
Tajae Sharpe 18
DeMarco Murray 14
Delanie Walker 11
Rishard Matthews 10
Andre Johnson 9
Harry Douglas 5
Derrick Henry 3
Phillip Supernaw 1
